Sometimes, when you can get no advice, you just have to trust your instincts, get out the credit card and take a plunge! Ask me by the end of next summer and I'll have an opinion.

Solution to the boat trailer problem: Get rid of boat and creek fish. Don't even need a canoe!

Would you believe I've got two. I had a 14ft aluminum 1963 Starcraft with a 10hp outboard and trolling motor (With an old 20 hp outboard if I want more power) Usually get all the Lic and permits every year and launch it about once a season. My brother sold his lake house about a month ago and I bought his 17 1/2 Ft Sea Nymph with 5 Pedestal seats 40hp motor, Electric anchors, trolling motor, live well. Curently have wall to wall boats in my garage. I figure I will be able to find something to do working on them till I die. Not really ready to sell one yet. My chiropractor said how did you ever get your wife to agree to that? I said easy, I didn't ask. When I brought the big one home, I dropped it in front of my house because we have a very narrow drive. Using my hand dolly it took every ounce of strength to get it started up the driveway. When I got to the garage, it was impossible to get the trailer wheels over the lip going into the garage. Thus the quest for the motorized mover. If I didn't have either boat, my probably 75 or so fishing rods and 600 reels, I might have enough to survive retirement. Maybe?

Once when I lived in Illinois I stored my boat at a place where they used a garden tractor to move the boats around. I always thought that was neat. It would move some pretty large boats and it wasn't all that large. they had welded an attachment that they bolted to the tractor and it had a ball hitch on it.

John: When I was a bit younger, I might have been able to handle it, but not now.

Don: I considered a tractor but don't have one and not much place to put one either.

No. Started going last summer when I had sciatic pain so bad I could hardly walk. Don't have that problem anymore but I've got the feeling that once you start with a chiropractor they keep you coming back once a month for life. My problems are mostly from old age and at this point that will only continue to get worse. I don't know about you but I'm not getting any younger.

Cheer up Jonathan. I had bad sciatic pain about 15-20 years ago. It's been long gone now, with no help from a chiropractor. And I'd guess I'm older than you. I like your dolly, but is there a reason why you can't back your boat into the garage with your tow vehicle?

Very Narrow driveway and by the time I get back to where I need to turn the truck to back it in there is no room to turn the truck to position it. I tried several times with the truck and it simply would not work. If there was nothing else in the garage, it might work, not sure but no way in tight quarters. Driveway is up against house on one side and a neighbors air conditioner close to the other side. Probably not a good place to live if you want to own a boat.

Cut me some slack Bad Bob. You can't be totally bad, I see you shop at Krogers. I worked for them for 20 years till they got out of the distribution business by third partying it out, then another 12 years for a third part contractor. Get a small retirement for the first 20 years. Another move to get out from under unions, pensions and benefits. I even flew down to Nashville probably about 30 yrs ago. to visit the Nashville Distribution center when it still exsisted.

Went to that same distribution center myself 15 or so years ago to look at potential problems with buried fuel storage tanks. It was a brutally hot August afternoon. The true temp was over 100 degrees and standing in that paved lot it was probably near 120 degrees! I remember it well.

Nice bass boat Jonathan. It might get it to the gravel bar on my creek, but launching it in ten inches of water could be a problem. Then watch that first shoal-ouch!
keep on boatin'! BB
