Make A reel Display Table
Several years ago one of my sons gave me an old glass topped coffee table. I took a piece of plywood and mounted it below the glass, covered it with a fishing related fabric and put wooden lures in it. The same could be done to display reels. I saw some glass topped tables at Goodwill for about $30.00 apiece the other day. Almost bought one to make one for reels, but I knew my wife would not allow it on the upper level of home and I've got no room in my reel room. Relatively easy to make and makes a nice conversation piece. Easy project for a cold winters eve.

that is too cool.
Great job on the table, but especially on the decoration

Yes, that's nice, Jon! You could line up a mess of Reel Clips in there and change reels out at will! The big problem with the 'floor' model is as you point out...none of us have floor space!...at least those of us that are married...you other guyz can just move the Harley over and hang up your waders and You have plenty of room!

Re: Make A reel Display Table
Here's a reel table I made from a Pflueger shipping crate. Felt covered raised botton, legs reinforced, heavy glass top custom cut. My entire collection of 4-Bros. reels and my Dad's Heddon lures in there. Excuse poor pics. Bad lighting, ineptness, cyber ignorance, slow learner, etc. etc. etc. Unlikely I will ever get the hang of this.
Cheers anyhow! Bad Bob

Cool Table. An antique full of antiques. Does your wife allow that in the house? My collection is banished to the garage or the basement. Lucky for me my wife doesn't do stairs well. She has not been down to the basement for a couple of years. She accuses me of being a hoarder. I'm really not. I do however save things that I think I may need someday. (Just being frugal)

Great displays! Love these ideas!
Re: Make A reel Display Table
In the house? Are you kidding me? I am allowed a grand total of three reels in the den, and they are in cubbyhole in a roll top desk. But it would REALLY look good in the den! Dream on, Bad Bob!

Re: Make A reel Display Table
Nice to know I am not alone. I've got more than three in the house. In the basement where they are out of sight! I think she likes it when I go down there or out to my garage room so I am out of sight also. I told her I am never going to the old folks home or a nursing home, couldn't take my collections along. That could be a business opportunity? Let's build a retirement center for ORCA members, with a big room in each apartment for rod and reel displays. It would be for "Old" Reel Collectors. Since Dolly cancelled the plans for her Nashville Park, maybe we could get a good deal on the land? Easy access to the mall and the Grand Ol Opry. A Bass Pro shop to buy more reels.
