Collection management programs

Hi guys! My new years resolution is to inventory and catalogue my tackle collection. I know there are several of you who use various databases and software packages to manage your collectibles, and just wanted to hear some recommendations of what works, what to stay away from, whatever. I would like to buy a software program that's fairly easy to use, and will store photos, sort, etc. Any help?

I like Excel, which you can set up any way you like, and which can be imported into lots of other programs if the need arises. It's easy to include links to photos, which you can store just about anywhere on your computer.
