show and tell and plea for help

Post by john elder »

Well, tough to impress this crowd, but the Meek #3 is a nice upgrade of my collection, along with the 33 and the (presumed) montegues. Note that hard rubber reel with the Meeks is an "Expert". The 60yder with rubber sideplates says "The Special Casting Reels" on the headstock and "jewelled" in the lower left quadrant. Please also note that it is missing an end cap, so if someone can help with one for me to purchase, I'd be greatful! it's a small threaded shaft...distinct from the other hard rubber reel above as well as all the Pfl, shakes, and heddon reels I have in the house!

Jack: The one with the Meeks does, indeed, say "steel pivots" ...the narrow bodied one by itself does not. Both of them are 60yd, as it turns out...I thought the upper one was 80...it's wider, but also smaller diameter than the Special.

John:

It's too late for me to sort through these:-)) But those are nice reels. If you need an end cap for the Montague, email me. I can't promise you mint condition, but I can probably find one that will work for you (i.e. correct one) until you find a nicer one.
