Some of what ORCA is about

Post by Ed Clark »

Over the years of collecting you get to meet many people - not always in person. I had exchanged many emails and reels for years with Bill Muth. I have never seen him in person. He is currently at a show in Milwaukee. Bill called me on my cell phone last night. He found a nice Hendryx reel for me at a reasonable price - called me to see if I was interested - I was - he purchased it for me and will send it when he gets home! I thought this was a great act of kindness! We have exchanged many reels over the years but I consider this act GREAT! I also have had many of the same examples with Joe Klaus. I consider these people and many others assets to ORCA. Then there is Phil, Steve, Laurie and so many others who freely and willingly share their vast knowledge with whomever may want it. I hold these people and many others in high esteem and hope that ORCA will have many more like them in the future to carry on their great acts of kindness and knowledge. Thanks to everyone (to many names to mention) and keep up the great work!

And it's especially nice when people go to the trouble of showing you a reel and you get around to bothering to tell them yea or nay. Then, lightening might strike twice.

Thanks for the note Ed, it's the least I could do after all the nice Horton reels and boxes you have put in my collection. Now I just hope you like the reel!
