Brass Pin-Stop S-handle Reel For Sale

Vintage 2 1/8" diameter, 1 1/2" wide Brass Pin-Stop S-handle Casting reel For Sale. Reel is in VG, Ex- condition (pictures show appearance, pin-stop does not seem to have much effect. $75 shipped. Sold to first confirming email. Moved to eBay

Am not familiar with pin-stop. How is it supposed to do what?

When the pin (lever) is pulled back it releases a spring which has a cylinderical post (pin) that contacts the inside of the spool thus creating a drag or stop on the spool.
