Santa Ana winds….dry brush…lots of houses and people in Harm’s Way…including a lot of reels that aren’t being made anymore. Thanks to a lot of water drops and an incredible effort by the fire departments in the area, not a single house has been lost so far, even though over 800 acres of brush has burned. I guess it’s still a lot better than a tornado…at least something can be done to try and stop a fire….thank God we have the firefighters and planes in place to do that or this one would have burned to the ocean in a day.
well, crap...out immediate area was safe today, but really bad north of us...30 homes lost so far today with 3 or 4 different fires burning. The crazies always come out when it's like this.
On my way home from Florida, I stopped in Goldsboro, N.C., to visit a friend. He said I had just missed the
fun. Two tornados went by about 5 miles away. I could see the huge thunderheads and knew that
something not nice was going to happen. Never got to us but made me think. Then, the goings on out
in California. Makes me think that maybe the Adirondacks, with all their blackflies, all their snow storms,
all their miserable winters in general, are still not a bad place to be. Hope that you are all safe out there, and
who ever is running the show upstairs gives you all a break pretty soon.
Saw the news about San Diego fires and was concerned for you and others in that county Deke. Sure glad all is well! Hard to avoid that sort of problem.
Best regards as always to my ORCA friends in CA! Bad Bob
