Problem With Frogs ????

The recent catch of an enormous bullfrog in a remote Vancouver Island pond has fueled concern that the voracious amphibians are spreading unchecked across the British Columbia island’s landscape.

Russ Schut, who was fishing in tiny Sproat Lake with a worm and bobber, hauled in the 2-foot-long American bullfrog and released it—after posing for a photograph—without knowing that it belonged to an invasive species that threatens native critters.

Because they’re not native to the Canadian southwest and have few natural predators, such as alligators, water snakes, and kingfishers in their native American southeast, some of the bullfrogs are growing to abnormally large sizes.

Soooooooooooooooo What is the Problem?/
The only problem I see here is that he let it go and didn't get the Frying Pan Hot!1

In my limited experience, there are few things that one could harvest from the wild that taste better than frog legs and wild caught Bull Frogs are the best that I've had. It's enough to make me consider moving to British Columbia to help them with their problem LOL

Humans with an appetite for fried frog legs could be the predator you are looking for. And they taste great!

I was restocking my bass ponds a few years ago, and got a catalog from Zett's Fish Farm in Drifting, PA, about 150 miles from my house.

Giant Bullfrogs were $.50 each and the tadpoles were only a bit cheaper. When I called to place my order for 50 of the full grown frogs, the lady at the hatchery told me, " I wouldn't do that if I were you." When I asked why? she said the adult frogs had a "homing instinct" to the pond they were born in, and "most of the frogs would likely hop back to the fish farm," 150 miles away.

Needless to say, I ordered the tadpoles.
