I am an owner of a vintage reel & rod shop in Canada and Japan. And now
I will open two more stores in Korea. I need to buy more rods, reels,
and others for the new stores.

I am contacting you because I expect you own more interesting goods to
sell me. Do you have anything more?

I am ready to buy:

Any fishing reels
Any vintage fishing rods. (Sea, fresh water, and fly)
Any parts for rod such as grip, handle, ferrule, eyes, corks.
Any parts for vintage reels.

Blanks, bamboo rods, ferrule.


If any, I am ready to buy all. First tell me what you own. Photos
attached for more understanding. You do not need to explain detail about
the goods. Just tell me the name or send me photos. I am expert and can
tell what it is at a glance. You may tell me the price, or I can make an
offer.

After we agree, I will first pay you by paypal. You will send it only
after you receive it.

Not only this time, but All thorough a year from now on, let me know
when you got any goods. I always need to buy them.

I am extremely skeptical and will be very careful if I do anything at all. I responded (maybe a mistake) and I'll see if he replies.

The only deep down details he references is his name, which I don't recognize, and the fact that he bought some reels from me, which I don't remember. That's two strikes...waiting for strike three I guess.

It's legit all the way. I got the exact same one. I actually know Akihiro Kondo quite well, as he has been one of my best eBay customers for bamboo rods over the last 12 years. Probably bought 20 nice rods from me over the years, maybe more. He has a series of vintage tackle stores and apparently is opening a new one overseas. You must have sold him a reel or two at some point, for him to have your name. He's up in Franklin, MA. I almost deleted the email too, as it looked about as phony as they get, but then noticed his name at the bottom. I emailed him last night and he got back to me this morning, wanting photos of a couple dozen bamboo rods I have available. He's a nice guy, with ENDLESS money, so if you have anything for sale (he's really into ABU reels) drop him a line.
