This Shakespeare "1965 Professional" reel is the 100-yard "Model 26" with the fancy logo on the front and the beautiful fishing scene on the rear. A wonderful looking reel in excellent condition both mechanically and physically. The reel appears to be constructed of nickel-silver. $175, shipped. Any form of payment is fine. I admit to not knowing much about this reel as I have not seen many ...so if my price is off feel free to make a offer.

Edit: In light of the information below, reduced to $95, shipped, or best offer. SOLD

Would consider a trade for an early fly reel.

Dean.

Nice reel! I like the hand engraved Shakes! I have a shelf full. It appears this one has a few replacement screws and a swapped in line guide. Doesn't appear the spacers have any cracks and only minimal shrinkage. That's always a plus. $175 may be plausible to the right buyer. Might take while to find that guy though! When they show up on ebay, like everything else, the prices aren't consistent. Some times you can pick them up for less than $25, and Ive seen them go through the roof. The hand engraved Presidents tend to bring more than the Professional, for whatever reason.

I would respectively submit that the term hand engraved is way over used. The majority of those reels were stamped in lieu of actually being hand engraved. Granted the dies were made from a hand engraving but if each reel was hand engraved, they would differ from reel to reel. Hand engraving could not ever be as consistent as stamping.

Still a nice reel but a bit over priced in my opinion.

No offense, just my opinion

No offense taken. Like I said, I don't know much about these.
