Hi guys! Need some help identifing a reel. It looks like any standard Shakespeare or Pfleuger levelwind reel. All metal construction. 2 jewelled caps that serve no purpose, they just screw on and are not oiling ports. The front faceplate has an etching of a shoreline with a large bass with a hook in its mouth. Other than that there are no markings or country of origin written on the reel. HELP
Some of the (early reals used the jewled eye covers to dress the reel up and stand out from other reels ,if you take the cap off you will or should see a concave circle going frome outside to inside and that is where the spool rides , the covers were just that dust covers, although some folks filled them with UGG! grease, as Harvy said please do a pic of the reel, 1 end view each end showing the cap and again with the cap off, then a top view, bottom view then a handle view and end plate tail with the caps on , someone , more than likey several folks will Identify the reel also are the plates all metal or posibly a composite hard rubber plate? The WORLD NEEDS TO KNOW! your cold OHIO conection Col. M. Lorens aka SWIM JIG
