I am looking to buy a reel and rod from the movie Jaws. After some research I found out that the reel is a Penn Senator 16/0, but I have no idea what the rod is. I was hoping that some of you experts on here would be able to help me. Maybe you have it or know someone that does or could let me know what it is. I am just a Jaws movie enthusiast and I need your help! haha!
Here is a detailed picture of what I am trying to get.
The reel is a Penn 16/0 of the correct time period as the movie and the rod is a Fenwick Big Game and looks like they largest one they made.
I believe Butch is correct about the blank being a Fenwick but to be more correct to the history of the movie, the guides have to be four foot, side mounted Mildrum guides. The rod is probably a 130 pound class rod, or it could also be unlimited. That is hard to say. It is a two piece rod with a Lakeland locking reel seat. I am not too educated about big game stuff but this rig is special.
Also, the rod butt should be a dark stained wood and should also be a straight butt.
This is amazing, because everything about this restoration is so wrong. The wraps are wrong and guides are a massive step down from the original Fenwick 130# class rod with the Mildrum side mount guides and I believe the blank used is a Lamiglass blank, not a Fenwick.
This is the correct rod blank color, guide and the style wrap of the rod used in Jaws.
