Neptuna Cradle Reel and Rods

I started a search for a Neptuna Cradle reel and found the following:

Neptune cradle pole with Penn 200 surf master from 1950s.one of 100 made.comes with two poles call for info.located in Torrance. 424 244 5298

He said he would only sell it all together and I believe he said the least he would take is $600
It is more than I am looking for so I thought I would pass this on. I am hoping to find a cradle to fit a 349.

The least he would take is likely the most he would get. That's about double what they were selling for except just in the last few months there has been a big rise in interest and bidding of Neptuna cradle reels so he might be lucky.

Ray, you are correct about the value, but the Neptuna cradle sized for a Surfmaster 200 or Squidder 140 is unusual. I have never seen one in that size.

I have seen the Neptuna 160 size but not a 140. The one you have pictured looks like a Squidder 146 size with a 140 head plate.

I just bought a Neptuna Cradle with sideplates that fit a 9/0 penn. I'm new to Neptunas. What other reels in theory fit this size- and does anyone have more Neptuna cradles for sale or trade? Thanks ! Daniel z

Dan, Accuplates likely made a side plate set that would fit that cradle, since they mainly chased the Penn line of reels in style. I had an Accuplates copy of a Jigmaster and had a corresponding Neptuna cradle that fit those plates perfectly. Nparts show up frequently on the 'bay, so run a search and see what comes.

Thanks John! Very funny it's gone in a trade already so looking for other cradles in general ! One of our mutual friends is a tough trader so he got a bunch of things I'd rather have kept - but I've been trying to get the item I traded for for 3 years plus so I'm happy. That's weird John. When I tried to mount Jigmaster Accuplates into a Neptuna Cradle fitted for a Jigmaster, the Accuplates were too small of a diameter. Possibly there are Accuplates that were sized for Neptuna Cradles?
