Pflueger Pfacts Book - Photo Needed
The Pflueger Pfacts book is in its wind down stage. The first copies available for sale are hopefully going to be at the ORCA Convention.
I am in need of a GOOD photo of one of the Pflueger Kentucky model reels - The Kentucky, Akron, Buckeye, Worth, etc. I would like a nice decorative photo like those used in past calendars. I don't need some extreme closeup, I just want a nicely composed photo of a Pflueger Kentucky style reel.
I need it in high resolution - at least 1600 x 1200 pixels. If you have something, or want to take a photo send it to me at:

I find it interesting that not one person responded to this message. I know that we have members reading this board that have Pflueger Kentucky style reels, and can take capable photos - for they have posted them here, or put them in albums.
Due to the lack of a response, I have been forced to use a catalog drawing in place of a nice color photograph. I will probably start printing copies of this book in the next day or so. The next issue of the Reel News will carry ordering information, and a review of the book.
I have received help and photos from Brian Funai, Joe Klaus, Lorraine Lawrence, Ron Lewis, Col. Milton Lorens, George McCabe, Bob Miller, Bill Muth, and Lowell Warren and want to thank them all.

Milt & Dale: Duh...
The first thing I did was look to see if there was a photo of a Pflueger Kentucky reel in the calendars that Lorraine did. There was not. Then I went through my Pflueger photo folder (I have over 200 Pflueger images) but none were satisfactory. That was why I posted the message.
Thanks to Bill Muth, I now have a photo that should work out OK. Nate, thanks for your offer, but it has become unnecessary. You might send them to Richard Lodge, and he can start building his Pflueger image folder.

Stumped...
Phil,
I think I may know what the problem was there on slow response... you mentioned the 1600x1200 pixtles...
Back when I had the resources to produce the calendars for ORCA I had a devil of a time impressing on folks what a high quality image file was. When you mention the pixtles you are maybe talkin' Greek to a lot of folks...
Most "throw down" or inexpensive digitals do not capture at the level needed... Most folks don't know how to tell how many pixtles an image is... or what their camera captures at.
As computer savay as many are they often fail to remember that your basic computer screen show images at 72dpi no matter how fancy the digital camera that captured the image... where as quality printing like the calendars were printed at 300dpi quality. Sooooo to print a nice 8.5x11 size photo at 300dpi that is gonna be a huge digital file... often too big to send easy on the web. So even though a picture may look great on the computer screen it may not be useful for print.
Maybe we can put together an easy one page tutorial for this info...
Lorraine
(BTW I would love to help do those calendars again if someone else can get the printing donated like I did for the color ones I was able to produce or work out a way to pay for the color printing...)
