Pflueger Pfacts Book

Post by Reel Geezer »

As a special bonus to those ORCA members who take the time to read this board (and are interested) the Pflueger Pfacts book is finished. The first 15 copies have been printed and more will roll out soon. If you are interested in purchasing a copy - There will only be 100 copies - you can send your check or MO for $35 + $3 postage (that's $38.00 to those of you who took "modern math") to Roger Schulz, 160 Shoreline Walk, Alpharetta, GA 30022.

There will be a review and complete writeup of the book in the May issue of the Reel News, and they will be available at the Convention in Texas. At this time the book is only available to ORCA members. I imagine I will get a bit behind in the printing but all who order will receive a copy as soon as they are available. I am doing the printing, but I do not take any of the orders. They must be sent to Roger.

I believe you will like the book. It is 8.5 x 11 inches, is about 150 pages, and has over 50 color photographs of reels from member's collections along with hundreds of catalog illustrations and advertisements.

Paul-
I'm unable to get the shipping cost onto the PayPal page. When I go to the Shopping Cart the book is listed but the shipping isn't added. Is this an AOL issue?

Hey Robyn,
You need to go to the shipping page and add the shipping to your cart individually. In the case you are only ordering the Pflueger Pfacts book, you would select both the $2.00 and $1.00 buttons to get the correct shipping. Here is the link:

Hey! I thought you were a Shakespeare guy! :-) Hope that takes care of it for you, as I don't think AOL has isssues with the store.

Take care now,

Doh!

Thanks, Paul. Guess I needed another cup of coffee before tackling anything that complicated.

Yeah, I'm still a Shakespeare guy but since Pflueger became a part of the empire in 1966 I thought the book belonged in the library. Just don't tell Harvey.

Robyn,
Don't feel bad, I did the same thing this AM when ordering the book through Paypal. I missed the shipping area altogether.

Please don't worry - I'm sure there will be plenty of copies for everyone. If they keep coming in however, keeping up with orders might be a problem.

HI, Just an interesting note on purchasing the book on the ORCA site. When I did it I was directed to a page after paying that said I had just joined ORCA and my packet will be coming soon. Dan U

Congrats. to all of you that put in the time and effort to bring us all this info, and thank you very much, Dan U

Book Riot!!!!

Post by el Lawrence »

OK just want to be clear on this... BOOKS AVALIBLE AT NATIONALS?
Will Phil be wearing his special fishing togs and personalizing copies? How about Bert?

Dang I would have paid MONEY to see Milt as the center of a book riot at a tackle show... that alone would have been worth the price of admission. I can just visualize the feeding frenzy now...Milt holding the Pflueger book aloft being circled by bottom feeders and tackle sharks... lol

That reminds me...Tom, we DO have security for Nationals right? lol

There will be copies of the Pflueger Pfacts book available at the Convention. No, I will not be wearing my fishing togs. I note those high 80's temps down there already and I'm packing my shorts. Bert will not be attending - Dogs are not allowed at the Resort.

Received mine today, spent a couple of hours reading it cover to cover. Some great information. It helped me identify an unmarked reel I have as Pflueger, and it humbled me as to just how little I knew about Pflueger reels. I had no idea there were so many variations of some of the reels. I had thought I had at least one example of each variation for a couple, seems I was very wrong.

Now I see some reels I will have to be on the lookout for.

I really, really, want one of the Kentucky style Pfluegers now.

Thanks Phil, and thanks to all the folks who did the research and wrote these wonderful articles.

Every Pflueger reel collector needs a copy of this book!
