greetings from a newbie

Looks like I am the newest member. I am a cane rod enthusiast who has been smitten by the lure of vintage reels. With the help of Ron Mc I have found a few lovely reels to adorn my rods and I look forward to learning much from you all.

Hello Apgap,

Welcome aboard. Many people here came from "somewhere else" and eventually landed in the reel world. I have done a lot of research on bamboo rods and their makers, and you will find your knowledge of that field a help when deciding what to collect.

Happy to have you on board!

Have you heard of a company by the name of Norton Manufacturing out of Chicago? I dont collect cane rods, but I found a catalog page from a dealers lot advertising their products. They list screw-locking ferrule type rods, self-locking ferrules and different kinds of bamboo such as yellow, striped mottled and calcutta. They also list deluxe rods with turned wood handles on them. Bob Halver---->The Airex Guy
