Corsair spinning reel ???

Post by RonLewis »

Some one just sent me a well used large spinning reel, brand name "Corsair". Also marked "custom made sea-river-surf". Black. Looks like some of the old Mitchels I used to surf fish with. Any ideas as to value. Please, and thanks in advance. Ron

Corsair Reel

Post by FSREPAIR »

Ron,

Ben Wright has the Corsair reel listed in his 3rd eddition on pages 104 & 105. It is a French reel made by Fraser around 1951. Value depends on condition but the black one is listed at $100 in mint condition, blueat$150, and Carmelat$165. Nice Reel! I hope not to get into trouble with any Mitchell collectors but they have a much better gear system than the Mitchells. I have a carmel colored one and it is a sweet reel. Randy Heller
