B.R. Wilkes Fly Reel..help!

Post by john elder »

A friend recently acquired this reel by a B.R. Wilkes...looks well-made and has a strong drag. Nothing in Lawson's book about this maker...can anyone give me some information about it? i'm assuming it's from the '40s-'50s? thanks!

we had a thread on this maker on March 1 of this year.

The thread was titled Wilhes and we all verified it was B. R. Wilkes.

I sent an e-mail query to the UK and received the following reply:
Ron ,the maker is Wilkes ,they made a very successfil reel called the Osprey
,reels were usually of good Quality hope thats helpful regards DD

Had a question come up on a reel, maybe a maker. Unfortunately, no

If I search on Wilkes or Wilhes, it comes up with "1 Match" but doesn't show me the thread link. The thread is invisible...

it happened to me again when I was looking for the threads that contain the current dollar value calculator - I searched "calculator" and it came up with 2 matches (both threads I'm looking for) but doesn't show the thread links.
