Ok some tips on making your way through Houston to West Columbia. Rush hour can be a bit messy so keep in mind when planning trip. You can get around on Sam Houston tollway pretty well with pocket full of quarters (exact change lane $1.25 a pop).
)From Houston Bush Airport (IAH) take highway 59 south to the downtown area and exit Texas 288 to Angleton. At Angleton take Texas 35 west 9 miles until you cross Brazos River; turn right at yellow blinking light (County Road 25 + large Columbia Lakes billboard); go two miles north on county road 25 to gated entrance of Columbia Lakes.
)From Houston Hobby Airport (HOU) take Telephone Road south about 4-5 miles to Sam Houston Tollway; go West on Tollway to Texas 288; go south on Texas 288 to Angleton; see directions from 1)above. Have rent car people direct you to Telephone Road.
)If entering Houston from North on I-45, proceed through Houston on I-45 and in the downtown area take Texas 288 to Angleton. See directions from 1)above.
)If entering Houston from North on US 59 – see directions from Bush Airport above.
)If entering Houston from East via I-10, take I-610 (East Loop) south follow around until your reach Texas 288. Take 288 south to Angleton. See directions from 1)above.
)If entering Houston from the west on US 59 take Texas 36 south at Rosenberg and proceed south on Texas 36 to West Columbia. At West Columbia take Texas 35 East 2 miles to County Road 25 (Yellow blinking light just before crossing Brazos River + Columbia Lakes billboard). Take County Road 25 North 2 miles to gated entrance to Columbia Lakes.
)If entering Houston from the west on I-10 you can take Texas 36 south at Sealy and follow directions from 6)above after reaching Rosenberg.
)If entering Houston from northwest on US290 you can also take 36 (from Brenham) and follow all the way to West Columbia. See 6) above.
)Texas 36 is a two lane highway and if you’d rather stick to freeways stay on I-10 or US290 to Sam Houston Tollway. Take Tollway south and follow to Texas 288. Take 288 south to Angleton and follow directions from 1)above.
