I am looking to trade this very rare Hardy Zane Grey big game fishing reel. Hardy records indicate there were only 13 of these made. Less than that survive today. This reel is in excellent mechanical condition, and all functions work as they should. When you give the counterbalanced handle a whirl, it just spins and spins, with the anti-reverse dogs making a very pleasing click, click, click. Cosmetically, it has some minor (IMHO) issues. The reel foot has been worked on, but it looks to be professionally done, not some of the backyard garage-type file jobs you see on many reels. It has some pitting to the Monel, what I would consider fairy light and superficial. I believe if someone chose to, the pitting could be buffed out. One of the "spokes" on the star drag wheel is slightly bent, but could be straightened with a little effort. Finally, I do not have the case and tools that go with it. All in all, this is a very nice example of one of the rarest big game reels around.
I am looking to trade for a big game Kovalovsky, Coxe, Stead, Klein, or vom Hofe reel(s). If interested, have questions, or would like more photos, please PM me.
Thanks for looking!
John
