News Regarding Ben Wright

Not good news, Ben had to go back into rehab again with pneumonia, heart issues and a collapsed lung. Things are looking fairly bleak at this point, maybe a few months, or possibly even less.

Unfortunately I have had several friends with serious medical issues over the years. However, during that time I have also witnessed some miraculous recoveries. I hope Ben is able to fight the odds and persevere. Never give up hope.

There is always hope. In 2001 I was laid up with a severe lung infection, a collapsed lung and heart issues. As you can tell I am still around at 76 years old. Just too stubborn to die.

Benny Wright--update
We wish we had better news but Brother Ben is in pretty tough shape. They got him out of the hospital and into Village Green Nursing Home. The adrress there is 10 Munson St, Le Roy, NY 14482 and he is in Room 407. We are sure he will appreciate think of your cards and letters. Brother Larry and I saw him this last weekend about 3 or 4 times and he is having a great deal of difficulty breathing because one of his lungs has collapsed and he is on oxygen and pain medication. He was breaking chops as usual. He said that he has no regrets, pretty much did everything that he wanted to do and is ready for the next phase. We wish Shari, Kory Wright and Marcey Wright Fox and Kelly all the best.
Safe voyage, Brother Ben Wright, Safe voyage. We will see you on the other side. Brother Larry and Brother Cheech.

Ben who am I going to talk about Zebco's to if your ready for the next phase. I'm really not ready for bad news just good news. Get better and get home.

Excuse the language but Damn, I really didn't want to click on the email, as I knew in my heart what it was going to say. I will miss my Zebco buddy always. Rest easy Ben.

This is such sad news. I read the post regarding his illness a couple of days ago and immediately sent a card off to him, it didn't make it in time.

Ben and I met through a phone conversation and then emails and did so for several years. If I sent him an email I knew without a doubt there would be answer the following morning.

We shared information regarding Bache H. Brown, Airex and the Feurer Bros. It was suggested, to contact Ben by another friend who passed away earlier this year, Vernon Kirby Jr.

He pioneered and stuck it out regarding research on Spinning reels and if there was a "Bible" regarding them, his books were just that. I have every book he printed and its interesting to see how the knowledge he gained was in turn shared with all reel collectors over the years.

His passing is truly a loss to all reel collectors. Our condolences to Ben's family,
