And last week at Mt. Vernon:

Two bewhiskered subjects:

A friend gave a talk about fishing in them thar days and an angling demo using tackle that G.W. used.
(ORCA needs to combat this nasty habit of fishing without reels!)

You ARE the patent authority, you must convince them of their heinous ways! :)

Mike, this one's for you.

Let us hope for a writ of mandamus
That effectively will thus constrain us:
We must no longer fish
Sans a reel. (That's our wish!)
Such behavior we think is most heinous!

Er.....John.....Take a close look, I think your eyes are fooling you. It appears to be a metal cup or flagon with the cup behind and handle loop toward the front of the bench. The dark circle is the center portion of the handle loop! :-P

Not only are you the master of all reel patents, Steve, I think you now should be appointed ORCA Poet Laureate. :type:

Er...John...Tommy's right. Here's a fragment of another photo:

Tommy, this one's for you.

I’m supposedly now on the wagon,
But when fishing I bring my old flagon.
Though my pals may not wish’t,
I am never outfished,
And the flagon helps boastin’ and braggin’.

Er...yes...Tommy is always right! Blame it on the ipad!

These days its oft a fright,
To challenge my limits of sight,
Without the glasses
It's all in molasses,
Even in optimum light!

Steve, I didn't know it that you were a poet. I'll bet your toes are Longfellows.

Mike,
Here's a clap with both my gauntlets for your splendid rhyming couplets.
