Help ID Pflueger Reel (I Think)

Post by Teal »

Consensus at NFLCC Nationals was that this was a Pflueger but almost no one had seen one before. Andy Foster thinks its a pre-1910 Pflueger and said he thinks he has one identical to it. Henry C. and myself think it's a very early E.A. Pflueger. It's German Silver and runs very, very smoothly.

Has anyone seen one before??? Thoughts???

By Jove, you have it, Dr. Todd!! Don't think anyone had come forth with a reel that violates the Don Champion Witness Mark ID!

Not an E.A. Reel. Appears to be a reel from the teens in my opinion. Looks identical to a reel I have that is Marked Norka with the bulldog logo. I have seen a few Norka reels that lacked the brake on the faceplate. Notice that the inside plate on the face side has a slot where the brake would have been.

Thanks Robin! An unmarked German Silver Norka without the front brake. Who'd have thunk!

Ever seen it catalogued??

Cool Robin! Still, the knob looks E.A.esh. Enterprise (read E.A.) never let parts go unused. Could be a leftover. But what do I know?
Nice find Todd!
