need help with old reel

I have an old steel pole, about 9 feet long, with a very smallspin-cast style reel. The reel is about 2 inches high and 2 inches long. On one side it says, "TRADE MARK UTK MADE IN USA". Can anyone tell me anything about it? Email me at: , thanks.

"UTK" is a H&I Trade mark. A picture would be worth a dozen words.
