Looking for Hastings Sporting Goods reels

Post by Mark Andrus »

Hi folks - I am looking for reels made my Hastings Sporting Goods around 1910 to 1920's. I collect the lures from these folks and would like to have a reel or 2 for my collection. Thanks.

I do not have one of their reels for sale, but I would love to buy one of the Hasting's Watch fobs that shows a hand and one of the Hasting's Wobblers, has a compass in the wrist position.

Hastings, where they were sold is only 20 minutes from me, have lived
here going on 7 years never seen one. Been collecting over 30 years
saw one, Louisville I think. Due to proximity of 'kazoo, my guess is
Shakespeare made them for Hastings, Harvey ?

We purchased one of those Wilson Wobbler watch fobs about 15 years ago in an antique mall in Nebraska. We took it to several tackle shows and one NFLCC National with a $250 price tag on it. After all that exposure at tackle shows it ended up selling at the Missoula, MT gun show to a lady fly fisherman who just had to have it "because it would look neat on her fly vest". I'm sorry I no longer have it for a collector to enjoy.
