You need one of the elusive left handed models too. I didn't even know they existed until a couple months ago. They are great reels, I can't wait for the fishing report!
I would like any unusual pflueger casting reels!

I know the left hands exist but I've never seen one. It's on my list to get one someday. I've heard of the Hawaiians casting these big boys like surf reels. That would be something to see.

Hi Mike, Nice Reels! I think a few of the guys in the club still have them but don't think they bring them out much. They take a beating down at the beach/cliffside so you might want to find one that's already seen a lot of use before hauling out those! But also, at such a slow gear ratio, it's a challenge just to retrieve your rigs.
But you really don't have to go far to see that stuff. Our friends in Texas do it all the time too! This is from the 2005 ORCA National Convention in Columbia Lakes, TX. "Big Lou" McEachern put on a great demo, casting reels that included a 6/0 Penn. As his sidekick, I used a Pflueger Templar 1419 3/4

Got a spare reel stamped "Pflueger" or a Montague Imperial?

Beautiful reels. I also have both the 9/0 and 6/0. With the dual dogs on the main gear they sound like a watch! I am also looking for the 4/0 to complete my set. I keep a close eye on good ole eBay for one but they seem to be quite elusive. Now it seems that I have serious competition!

Here's a picture of mine, they are out there. I picked this one up from a fellow orca member at a nflcc show.
