I received some great reel pictures from Renzo of ANTIPES (Associazione Collezionisti Antiche Attrezzature da Pesca), aka the Italian antique tackle collectors association. There is one GINORMOUS spinning reel shown that I can't believe! What do you mount it on? What kind of fishing needs such a gigantic reel?
These are from a recent convention organized by ANTIPES c/o FishingShow2017
Holy Moly! Ed would like that one! I can see from the reel displays on the tables, those are my kind of guys. Glad they're on the other side of the Atlantic or I'd have to go back to work.
Love those Open Face Spinning Reels!(Especially ABU & ABU/Zebco)
On behalf of ANTIPES Association, we thank you for what you are doing for us.
My personal thanks for the affection shown to me, I hope to reciprocate.
As already said, it is a time when we are very busy, as soon as possible, I provide to sign up for Orcaonline
Best wishes
Renzo
Great pictures, my "people" seem to like reel collecting in a big way!!
As an aside, as a child my family vacationed in northern California and became friends with a couple, the Doyles, that homesteaded just north of Lassen Park in Lassen County. The couple were in their 80's at the time but still had two milk cows. Each morning and evening Laura Doyle would carry two full buckets of raw milk up the hill from the barn and run them through a machine that looked almost exactly like that huge reel....except she called it a cream separator!! Ha! Made the best homemade ice cream EVER!
