Hi Guys,

Here is how I have to store reels for now. I have better in mind, but it would certainly help to see how you guys do it!

If you'd get rid of all that junk on the top shelf you'd have a lot more space.... I especially like the careful storage on the rug!

Come on Pete. The guy's gotta eat! There is enough stuff there to cook a dozen meals. By the way, Clinton, I will trade you a #707 for that George Forman Grill or the Mixer and the Bowl!
(Just kidding, can't cook anyway!)

I don't see anything wrong with that. At my house my wife says anything displayed has to be dusted weekly so mine are hid all over the house. Dan U

Nice collection, Clinton!

Clinton, I think a couple-a reels in those glass jars would be neat. If you were to fill one of them with a whole bunch of reels, you could label it "For bad case of reel-itis, take one a day". Now, if someone could show us a "reel in a bottle" now that would be something incredible. Hey Milt, how good are you at re-assembling reels with long tweezers!

:P Nice display, obviously you need a bigger house preferably near a lake so you can use some of those reels. I on the other hand am like the Col. and have control of the entire basement where none dare tread unless they wish to be told of my many fishing exploits. Canadian

NUTS to that. Tony I let her majesty into the RAT HOLE as thats where the washer and Dryer are and of cours I let her run those items as well as the wet mop and sweeping of the floor! As for my fishing stories? I do one beter, I clean them in the sink in the kitchen and ler her watch! She likes yellow perch so as we are only allowed 30 a day in OHIO she must put them up and or bread them and fry them , as for those 11lb waleye well I do those! rules of the RAT HOLE , 1 no tv allowed, 2 no scrubing floors or washing clothes when I work on reels, no ironing or washing windows while I ocupy the RAT HOLE, and the main one I AM KING! period in the Rat Hole! Nice collection ...

Post by ABUBO »

Hi Clinton / All,
Nice collection CB. Right, the storaging is always a compromise ... between you own needs and wishes and your wife's opinion on that what ever collection you've got it should have been trashed long ago
Daaarn - only four years ago when I was single, my entire condo had fishing stuff (mainly ABU) scattered all over the place. No dusting every week back then I tell you. Oh no! But it was a very cozy athmosphere - or caughfy athmosphere *lol* ;-)
Nowadays it's different, but I've managed to get me a RAT HOLE like Col. I'ts in the old cabin's livingroom. Not as big as I would have wanted it to be (would have wanted the whole house!) but it'll do for now. The deal was NO FISHING GEAR in the new cabin so that's how it is in good old Denmark. It could be worse so I'm not complaining (yet ;-) ).
My display is somewhat crippled. Since moving up here in Nov.'04 my stuff is all packed away in big boxes for storage at my old folks place. Talking abt it - I better go do the rat hole more ratty than sitting here writing to you guys ;-)

C'mon guys, lets see how it's supposed to be done! I'm trying to get some ideas. (I guess it's a good thing I moved the cat's litter box before I took the picture)

Fishing Room

Post by Bill Muth »

My "fishing room" doesn't always look like this, I just did a MAJOR cleaning. The nearly empty case at the end used to be full of lures. It is now waiting for boxed reels from Horton Mfg. Co. Please sell or trade me for them! Have some closer-up pics of the cases if anyone wants to see them.

Now I'm impressed! Didn't anyone ever make a whiskey bottle in the shape of a reel?

I can see that I'm going to be doing some re-arranging this weekend.

Thanks,
Clinton

Steve was right, I removed these pic's. While I'm not as neat as Harvey or Bill, I do have most of my stuff on display.

Bill! I have to come over to YOUR house one of these days!

Jim, my favorite tackle shop is like your room; it has surprises hiding everywhere!

I'll have to rotate my own stock sometime soon.

OK Forget re-arranging...I need to remodel! I thought about an assault on the kitchen but I don't know what I'd do without food. The display cases are great! This was what I wanted to see.

Impressive, Merv! Ever think about opening a museum in E. Troy? Are all of the Kalamazoo and Kiest tins in another room?
