L.A. Kiefer reel question

Looking for info on a reel I know nothing about. Its a L.A. Kiefer Pat 81 82. The foot seems to be removable ? I am working on acquiring it but am not familiar with this design. Any help would be appreciated. I was unable to take pics of the reel. Also, any info on where this reel was produced. Thanks for any help and info. Happy New Year !
