South Bend 850 Perfectoreno

I just bought a South Bend 850 Perfectoreno,and would like to know when they were manufactured?Also,I am new to the vintage reel scene but have been fishing over 50 years what is the best book I can get on reel history and values?

Welcome to the Orca online community. The best books on reels and values are located on this site at https://www.orcaonline.org/orca-store/reference-books/. Joining Orca will give you access to our extensive research library. The Orca websites contain more information than is available in books, but the books are a great start.

I believe the 850 Perfectoreno was introduced in 1941. I don't have my post-war catalogs handy right this minute to see when, or if, they were produced after the war. I'll update when I get home.
