Had lunch with #1 son today and he pointed out something a bit bizarre. on one side of the street at his work, the trees and bushes and electrical boxes, etc, were just covered with snails! Not the typical brown snail we have out here... not sure who these smaller folks are. But the really strange thing was that 40 ft away, on the other side of the street... same trees, same bushes, but no snails. Begs the question “ why did the snails not cross the road?” Probably more important, where did these little invaders come from?? Prof Google has so far offered little help.

Another interesting phenomenon: sunflowers point to the east, period. Don’t change during the day. Not a myth. I observed this just last week in a field of them. Every flower nodding eastward- NOT pointing to the sun. Haven’t Googled that one.
