Just ordered, I was able to get into the store with very few problems. Sometimes it just takes me a few years.

John Elder has done an exceptional job in putting this supplement together for the Restoration, Cleaning and Repair Notebook. He has covered a variety of reels such as Rochester, Al Foss, J.A. Coxe, Meek, Meisselbach, Mitchell, Haywood, Vom Hofe, Cradle reel, to name a few. The colored pictures throughout the supplement show clearly what he is doing to each reel to restore it. If you do any reel repair, you need this supplement. It is well worth the money.

Well, shucks, i was feeling a bit embarrassed about that title but i got a final copy from Roger today and I will definitely use it myself! Dr Todd did all the layouts for the different restore/repair jobs and Roger put it all together. My copy is now bound in the restoration manual and I’m already using it to remind me of the Innards of a Stevens reel as i attack another one. I hope it does others a bit of good and serves as a resource for reel workings. Here’s some examples from the Stevens article:

Well I bought one, mostly because it said you authored it. I have probably never tried to re build any reel. Many of the ones I have left, you probably already worked on or they are nearly new. Mainly just trying to support the club.

Reel Restoration with Dr. John Elder is selling. If you haven't already orderd a copy, you need to do so. ORCA has sold almost 300 copies of the Reel Restoration Notebook. The supplement fits right into the notebook and makes it even more useful in reel restoration. See the ORCA store.

Will there be a package deal that couples the Reel Restoration Book along with the supplement?

Probably when and if we do another printing of the restoration notebook, it would make sense to combine the two. The price for the two would have to increase the cost of the restoration notebook. Not sure what it would be at this point in time. Color printing is expensive.
