First post over here (I've been somewhat active over on Alan Tani's site as well, I've put together a few rebuild/tutorial threads) since you guys seem pretty knowledgeable on the older, less (currently) mainstream reels. For some background I've gotten into older style Penn conventional reels this last year, and recently picked up a few older Pfleuger reels as well. I now have a Skillkast, Supreme, and a worn but rather smooth Summit that I picked up for a song on that one auction site. The only problem is, the Summit was missing the crank handle and crank nut! I for some silly reason thought this was a part with a close enough thread pitch to find a nut at the hardware store to fit, or that I could find something online, but I'm having zero luck finding one for sale outside of very large lots of parts reels that come with extra bits.
Is there a parts site that any of y'all know of where I can buy just the crank nut for this reel? I already picked up a cub handle for it, so all I need is the nut to hold it onto the reel
Alternatively, does anybody have a spare nut they would be willing to send along? It's my understanding that the thread pitch and nut size is the same for several of these older Pflueger reels, namely the Akron, Skillkast, Summit,Supreme, etc. All I need is a nut that will fit, as I plan to fish this reel and it's absolutely not a show reel. I've already fed the family with catfish caught on the Skillcast, and that cub handle sure is a fun way to fish, so I would love to add this one to the lineup
Regards-
Anthony
