Seeking ID for this unmarked troller combo. Anybody?

(Not my reel. Asking for a friend).

Is it all one piece or does the reel come off the reel seat? What is the diameter of the reel? Can you add a picture looking down into the reel? Great ascetics on the handle, the whole thing has that steampunk look about it. It looks like it came off Capt. Nemo’s Nautilus.

Yep, and that is exactly what Phil thought when he selected Mike's reel as the 2nd Reel News Reel Award winner back in 2000:

A few more of these have surfaced, but nobody has found a maker stamp that I'm aware of.

Wow! Thanks for that!

When I saw the pic I was wondering about the plate around the handle hub. It sort of looks like a line counter as on a Veeder. The owner told me not that it does not have a counter. I’m hoping to get a closer look at it.
