C'mon up!!!
Harvey,
Plenty of room for you here in Upstate NY! C'mon up, I'll throw some logs in the fireplace and open a bottle of scotch. That outta keep you warm, or at least forget the warm weather and beaches you left behind. Granted, we don't have the bikini clad women up here like you have down there, but...wait a minute...make room for me Harvey. I'm on my way down!
All kidding aside, stay safe!

Hey Harv
Harvey,
Got the Castey today, thanks! ALso the CD and papers, man like I need another obsession! Its like finding a tackle box hat got dumped upside down and all the hooks are interconnected, will take some time but I think I can start to try and untangle the weird history of these reels...
Remember, you can always move to Cincinnati--no hurricanes, only REALLY bad allergies that might make you wish you were living in Arizona. Oh, and a great football team too...
Thanks again, I will spend HOURS looking through the Shakespeare pics...
Cheers,
Todd

Todd, You are quite welcome as long as you don't tell Mother Larson that I am the reason you are staying up late, not taking the trash out and for not doing all the things that she has on the list.
As for moving to Sin-Sa-Natti, I just wanted ONE snowstorm! Remember, I lived in that river valley for twenty years.

One big storm
Harvey,
Come to Massachusetts. We usually have one big storm that lasts most of the winter. I remember one winter a few years ago the Boston Globe decided to run a graphic whenever there was a snow storm to chart how much snow had accumulated. They used a photo of famed Boston Celtic center Robert Parish as the benchmark. It didn't take long before the snow in the graphic had piled up over poor Robert's head (he's 7' 1"). The snow just kept coming. I think we had a total of 10-11' that winter. So you're welcome to join us. That'll teach ya.

Try TEXAS...
We get about one snow storm a year or so... have plenty of bikini clad women, sandy beaches, coastal fishing, trophy bass... Uh wait a min. I hear hurricane Rita will blow in on Friday. Well at least the state is a bit wider than Fla. so you can go more inland...
I don't know... Jims offer of a fireplace and a drink sounds pretty good...
I bet he could import sand and bikini clad women (sfx: rummaging in a drawer) I am sure I have a bikini around here somewhere...

You could move here!
Harvey, You could move here in Myrtle Beach, SC. We've got a lot of building boom going on but I'm not sure the storms wouldn't just follow you here.

Hi guys! I've got the solution for all of my neighbors to the south who are tired of hurricanes and tornadoes. move up here to Southern Ontario. Lg. cities or smll. towns, your choice. Less snow than most of the bordering states. Millions of acres of land to fish and hunt. Free medical care and the list goes on. You can do what our snowbirds do(retired folks) You live here
June to Dec; and move to Florida for the rest of the year after hurricane season is over. Best of both worlds. Seriously though, i hope you ride this one also without any problems. Good Luck!

Eh?

Now if I COULD land one of those easy Canadian governement jobs (like at the post office where I hear they get beucoups vacation and barely work anyway judging from mail delivery) and qualify for all the benifits... I for one would consider it... Even though TEXAS is a great country... uh state...

Personally my own retirement plan is to get a nice airstream... quietly slip across the border

lol lol lol...
so just wondering... how DO you type Canadian and not get an emoticon?

Boy, I feel bad about complaining when a little windy storm that blew thru here yesterday after looking at the TV this morning and seeing Rita heading for the Gulf as a CAT four.
EL: I think you should consider going out and buying that Airstream today, digging that Bikini out, rounding up Tom, Joe, Warren, Nello, Colby, Robyn and any other Texan ORCA members and heading to Florida. You can park it in my parking lot, (I am less than a 1/2 mile from the beach and less to a shopping mall) use my electric, shower, picnic table and maybe spend some of your spare time cleaning some of my reels. This storm track doesn't look good. As our Governor, Jeb, said, “HUNKER DOWN”, (That’s Texas talk, I guess) and stay safe.
And Tony, No offence to the "Snow Birds" since most come to SoFla and spend their money here, which keeps me from paying state taxes, but we have a saying that goes like this, "The best thing that has ever came out of Canada is an empty Amtrack train" (Just kidding of course!)

Harvey,
If I had the scratch for an airstream saved up I would think about it... (sounds like a great set up you have) my mission for today is just gas up the trucks and jeep, buy sandbags for the front door... some charcoal for the grill... bottled water, (make sure the insurance is paid up). I am far enough inland that high wind, tornadoes, lots of flooding rain (we have had water pretty deep here before, enough to float away homes in some areas and give me class 3 whitewater in the back pasture) and power outage is what we could be in for here.
I imagine Nello, Robyn, Ron Mc, and Richard Harvey are far enough inland too... though our friends in HOUSTON area (COLUMBIA LAKES too) could be in for a bad one... I imagine Tom, Colby, Jay, Bryce, Joe, and Ben should all batten the hatches... Emil in Corpus too...All depends... Any are welcome to beat feet here to seek safety.
Still waiting to see how far east or west it comes ashore to see who takes the beating... Gulf water is pretty warm so it won't be pretty...

Rita's Coming
The first wave of evacuees arrives at the farm this evening occasioned by mandatory evacuation of parts of Galveston County. Right now all of my guests are in bumper-to-bumper traffic and still in the Houston area unable to give an ETA. I'm not turning anyone away but the beds fill up tonight. Tomorrow it's sofas and sleeping bags for anyone needing shelter but by all means, get out of harm's way.
Wherever she comes ashore, Rita is a big one! Harvey's parking lot sounds pretty good right now...

For those that did not see this on Joe's: From Tom Eidson
"Heading for Austin
For those who came to ORCA National in May, Columbia Lakes Resort and my lake house in either a direct line or on bad side of Rita. Wish us luck. Tom "
Take care
Robyn, your generosity will be returned tenfold.
Please be safe everyone
