The photo below shows snelled hooks “Tied by the Pequea Tribe- All American Labor.” I have seen discussions associating such hooks with Strasburg, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. See,

The now-controversial Carlisle Indian Industrial School (where football legend and Olympic Gold Medalist Jim Thorpe played from 1907-1911) was also in Pennsylvania. I am interested if there is a connection between the Pequea Tribe and these same-era Carlisle snelled hooks.

"Carlisle" refers to a very early style of hook made in Carlisle, England. Any relationship to Carlisle, Pa., is coincidental.
