Meisselbach 580 Handle Locations
I'm noticing that the face plates on some Meisselbachs (Tri-Parts) are oriented differently from each other. At first I thought that they had different handle, and screw, locations. But I see the "Tri-Part" lettering can be askew -anywhere on the clock face. Appears to me that the threads on the faceplate are not what they are supposed to be; Possibly stripped? Does that seem accurate? I should avoid such reels then? Thanks.

From the patents:

...the reel frame is provided with an adjustable end plate (called a 'head-plate’ herein) carrying the hand-crank, by which the axis of the crank may be adjusted in various positions upon the reel-frame.

Roger, I apologize for yelling the second quote, but we had some loud music on.
