I love old folding wooden rulers used in the 1930s-50s. They are for sale at most vintage tool booths at antique fairs and sell for $10-$25.
You almost want to be asked, “what’s the spool width of that reel?”

Very nice! I have a few as well and love to use them when the occasion calls. The real nice ones were made of ivory, although that is probably illegal to own now. Boxwood comes in a close second, however.

Very nice Mike. My Dad used those folding rulers, and I remember playing with his when I was a child. I'm sorry I didn't keep his.
