My latest clean up ...
Before shots by the FeaBay seller Listed as "maker unknown".
Reel was unmarked, so I wet sanded the plates and finished with Flitz.
Not too shabby.

Nice rescue, Dean! Aren’t you glad it wasn’t a 16/0?! Getting those side plates took look like that is a lot of work!

Thank you.
1500 grit dry sand, then 2000 wet sand and finish with 3000 wet sand.
YMMV, but works for me.
