O.K all you tech wizards: I finally managed to upload my pictures to the web site but i don't know how to post them. They're now stuck in the picture repository under "unknwn reel" If some one can retrieve them and post them for me and tell me how to do it for future reference, please do so.
(edited by Brian F./Monitor: Tony, all you gotta do is go to the repository, click on the photo you want, copy the URL in the "Address" line on your browser, past it into your message, highlight it with your cursor, click on the "Img" button and it should appear in your message.)
We need the address (url) for the picture, or at least for the web site where you loaded them. "unknwn reel" is probably part of the address, but we need the whole thing.
Thank's for the help Brian! Spelling errors aside, what is this reel? Also, i'm pretty sure the end caps are missing,if so, does anyone have some?
And finally, whats the value for this reel?
Tony, it's a Montague. You can tell by the shape of the foot.
Just go to this page on my Old Reels web site and look at the photos of the various foot designs. Most of the inexpensive reels can be identified in that manner. The value is little due to the missing oil caps.
What an idiot I can be! That's what makes up for my other irritating characteristics! Anyway - what's the policy here and why are there so many lures posted?
Here are the rules that appear when you go to upload anything:
Uploading Rules
1. This service is only to be used for old fishing tackle pictures. So please don't be putting anything in there that is not related to tackle collecting.
2. Feel free to reference your photos in the repository from other tackle bulletin boards, as long as you make a duplicate post here on the ORCA board. Linking these photos to any auction sites is NOT allowed.
NOTE - The upload folder will be wiped clean occasionally, but only as needed to preserve disk space on the server. So do not plan on your pictures to remain there forever. If you need to have a permanent spot, please find a webhosting service that will provide this for you.
Looks like there are indeed some that are not following the instructions. I think the repository just needs a good cleaning.
(Sorry Tony, don't mean to hijack your thread but I don't know how to move stuff from one to the another)
Brian: why don't you put up a sticky message (one that will stay at the top of the subject list) with instructions about the repository and how to post photos. Then it will be available to members all the time.
Phil: Great suggestion.
Brian: Great Job. Your directions should be bronzed. I hope Milt gets a photo up now so we can see some of those special reels.
Thanks. Dale
