Reel Wrench ID Help

Does anyone recognize what reel/manufacturer used this wrench? I'm assuming it's for a reel, and possibly a spinning reel, as it came out of an old tackle shop. It seems familiar but haven't really paid much attention.

Brian, I've seen guys bend Penn, and other, spinner wrenches like that to remove rotor nuts. They usually do it if they've lost the little Penn socket adapter that came with the wrench. Otherwise, I have no clue.

I'll be darned, don't remember seeing an early 700 display box like that. I know Sal once bent a 720 wrench to a similar angle. He must have seen one of those early 700 wrenches. Thanks, Mike!

This was a very short run of boxes. These original 700 boxes were distributed to shops. In a very short time, they were gone, and the standard box took their place. The Model # also changed to 701, meaning only one spool came with the Model 700 reel. here are some more photos of the reel and box.






And here is the wrench. Possibly the early versions were not marked but this one is stamped on the wrench handle with the Penn name and Spinfisher and the word, "Lube".

The first-generation reel is a tough find, but it is the early box that is truly rare. The Model #700 was sold in big numbers using this box and called the 701. The wrench is not rare at all.
