Thank you, Midway Tommy

Post by Mike N »

For my 65th birthday this summer, one of my sons bought me some new fishing tackle he ordered on line and had shipped to me. But when I went to add line to the spinning reel I could not get the spool to turn no matter what I tried. Rather than go thru the return process my son had a new reel sent to me. This left me with the original spinning reel basically for parts. I decided to gift it to ORCA’s spinning reel guru, Tom DeLong, in Nebraska, figuring he might be able to use it for parts on another repair. Once Tommy had it and looked it over he told me it looked as if it had been exposed to salt water, basically freezing up the gears.

Imagine my surprise yesterday to open a box not only with the reel inside but also now running like a clock.Tommy had taken it apart and repaired it. My intention was to gift it to Tom, but not only did he fix it, he re-gifted to me. What a kind gesture; I’m very appreciative. Thank you, Tom.

That's what I call a great ORCA Member. Helping others with their reels is what ORCA Members like to do. Good job Tom.
