Looks great so far. Your collection wouldn't be complete without one of the early 149 reels without the star drag.
You also now need a LL Bean marked 249
There are so many variations of these narrow spool reels.
I may have an extra 49A I'll look when I get home from work. I sent you an email with my contact info

the search for the 49A (South African) version continues.
The 49A will send you on a complicated quest. There are many varieties. "A" marked and unmarked head plates, black, white, and gray spool versions. Many different boxes. The 49A is a collecting exercise in itself.
Spool variations are an interesting search. The most common spool is the black plastic type but there are others.
And then matching the reels to the boxes can be a tricky thing to do.
There are also other African export models to find. South African Penn collecting crosses over into books and media stories about the phenomenal fishing that is South Africa. Great stuff!
mike cass,,, if you can't collect it, it must be food
Sorry that I haven't been online much, up to my neck in work and other projects.. no doubt about the fallen toolbox from the sky...I feel like I just opened a Pandorax box with that toolbox hahaha...
