Just picked up this Pflueger Nobby. Was searching on this forum and on line to find age of this and found a post from someone who identified the same reel but without oil port, and with straight slot screws holding the foot on, as 1935 or so. It also had the large pawl screw on the level wind mechanism that also matches the extra pawl screw in the head plate. This reel has has the straight slot screws, large pawl screw and the oil port. Any idea when this was being made? Obviously after the introduction of the oil port but when? Thanks to all. Tom

Bad Bob is right. He wrote an extensive article on the Nobby in The Reel News in 2003, issue #3. It can be found in the Reel News online archive under the Members Services / Members Only tab.
