Hi friends, does anyone know what power or action this Airex 7’ rod is? This is one model I can’t find any information on. It’s entirely dipped in varnish and in pretty good shape. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Are you sure it's 7'-0"? The 1954 Airex Catalogs list the NO 275 as a 6'-6" Tubular Glass Fresh Water, and also Salt Water, Boat Rod.
In '56 it was only listed as a 6'-6" Tubular Glass Heavy Duty Salt Water Rod.
In '57 & '59 it was listed as a 6'-6" Tubular Glass Heavy Duty Fresh and Salt Water Rod.
There were no line or lure weights mentioned but the '59 catalog says "Ideal for muskie, pike, snook, small tarpon and sailfish, sea trout, ladyfish".
You are correct Tom, it’s 6’6. Thank you for the info! I was not expecting this to be from the 50’s. Power is similar to MH at best. A tarpon would be a wild ride.
If you are a paid ORCA member all that information and a boatload or two more is viewable, and also obtainable, in the ORCA Harvey Garrison Library. There were a couple of handle/grip options, too, depending on the circa & catalog.
Love those Open Face Spinning Reels!(Especially ABU & ABU/Zebco)

Does this rod have Super Z ferrules? Nat Uslan, who made five-strip bamboo rods, was also supervising the build of the Airex rods.

I’m not sure. How can I identify these?
The lip of the female ferrule will have a stylized "Z" stamped in it.
