First thought are that it is not an Aerial.
The Aerial reel was designed by Coxon with spokes connecting the drum to the hub in order for the line to be able to be ventilated from top and bottom. This hasn't got any spokes.

I believe it is an Arial, but the spool has been modified with an alternate face plate. It’s unclear whether the original face plate was damaged or the previous owner just desired a less open spool face. The side view shows the “spokes” that are typical for the Arial underneath the perforated plate .
You don’t see s lot of these reels on this side of the water. Re value, It’s not the kind of reel you can retire on, but depending on condition, might be worth a few hundred dollars.

Ray, your photos show two different reels. The reel on the right, here, is an Aerial. See this quaintly-named website. I don't know what the reel on the left is. Aerials were made for over 70 years, and others may know how to date this one.

That is right. The reel on the left is a cheap mass produced centrepin. Not an Aerial.
The other reel looks like an Aerial, but it would help if the op showed the front and rear views. Aerials were initially made from ebonite, then alloy in the 20th century. The the adjustable check dates it after 1905. But there are many models.
