Who is the Winchester reel scholar

Post by Reelman2 »

Recently I have been collecting Winchester German Silver baitcast reels. I have been noticing the variations and differences of the 4160 and 4161. Can someone tell me why some that are unlabeled might be different from one another. For example,
I just purchased what I thought was a non-labeled 4160 but there are three pillars versus 2 on some. Did the seller not know the difference or are there variations of the 4160 and the 4161.
Collect mostly Ky style reels; Meek, Heddon, Horton, Pflueger Redifor and Worth, etc.

Wouldn't you know it. I can't seem to find that particular issue. I have the one before it and after it. Is it available online from ORCA

That issue and all issues of the Reel News are available online in the members only area in the Reel News Index. I am surprised that is not well-known. Let me know directly via email if you need help or have any trouble accessing it.
