Are there many miniature fishing reel/rod collectors?

Post by drexelantiques »

I have various miniature reels, and rods, some english fly reels with small rods. Obviously not made as serious fishing equipment. Some made for kids, some just made for fun. I just wanted to know if there were other collectors out there?

Here are a couple of mine:

I also have a few mini baitcasters, and etc. The highest quality ones I have were sold by Jamie Maxtone Graham some 20 years ago. Quarter size fly reels with little 3ft. split bamboo fly rods.

:D 8) :!: :?: cool-thumb jump USA They may have been Salesman Samples, They done things in Minature so the Salesperson could show a compleate line of goods without taking up a lot of space (some items I have had were ( stoves , and furnaces they actual worked and burned coal, oil lamps, guns, some lure boards, bicycles, washing machines, both manual and powered, The thought behind a sample item was, once a buyer saw it could hold it etc it done more than a picture could ever do. I dont discount the child idea, however still will lean towards sales reps (tools Of the TRADE) Your Ohio Conection On a cold Lake Erie Col. Milton Lorens aka SWIM JIG

The Rubber Reel Lady said she didn't know how to post pictures, so asked for my help with this. Here are a few of her miniature fishing items that she displayed at a tackle show once. I especially like the hip boots and the fly rod in the form case.

To take a look at all her stuff, you can find it at the following page on her I Go Pogo web site:
http://www.igopogo.com/mini_fishing_tackle.htm
There are 13 different reels shown on that page. This does not include her newest additions - a pair of Bob Dennison's miniature Edward vom Hofe Perfections in wooden display cases. I'll have to take a photo of them. She was alerted to the newest Dennison creation by Geezer Jack.
