Winchester Reel

Here i have a winchester reel. It is in pretty good condishion and was just wondering how much it would be worth? It is a winchester 4160 tournament style 100 yard crank reel. I will upload some pictures, tell me what you guy think.Thanks alex.

P. S if you no anybody that would like to buy this reel please let me know.

As I'm sure most of you recognize, Alex's reel has a replacement handle on it. The 4160 (100 yd) and 4161 (85 yd) are Winchester's finest casting reels, but they had an unusual looking crank with a counterbalance weight under the ivoroid knob.

As I said above, this is a good reel and would be worth $400 or so in great condition. I assume that you would tell buyers that the handle is not the right handle, so there is no misunderstanding.

There always seems to be someone who thinks they can find a replacement handle, but in my opinion there is no chance of ever finding a handle to fix up that reel. To me, it is a parts reel, and should sell for a parts reel price.

It could also be a user reel and someone could put on a better replacement handle and use it in our old casting contest or fishing tournament.
