Post by Reelman »

:type: :?: I am hoping some body could help me on who the maker is or a time frame. Only mark as you can see is a 4 stamped on the bottom of the foot. :bash:

Merv,
Have a reel similar, but with single crank. Photo re K White 264-1290. Seems like a NY reel circ 1880. Mine also has holes drilled in foot like yours, but attached to my foot is a rivited slab of copper used to attach to a rod. Guess the original foot was too small to be of use on a pole.

I have not removed the attached foot plate so don't know if there is a number or not. My reel is 1-1/4 wide with a 1-3/8 cylindrical side plates.

Hope this helps.

Dale.
